With more than 80 in person, hybrid and virtual meetings, 11.000 delegates, almost 10.000 travelers and more than 30.000 room nights, 2021 has been a year of adaptation to the new reality of meetings and a year full of challenges, opportunities, and learnings.
AFEA managed to adapt, to transform, to evolve and to incorporate the learnings and experiences of 2020 into the company’s daily operations and services, as well as to offer an upgraded and digitally upscaled profile to its clients. At the same time, our team developed an internal mechanism, able to resolve and respond to any crisis.
In 2021, we had the honor and opportunity to work with our valuable clients, to assist them on their meetings and travel requirements and to support them in any request.
Our travel executives went over and above themselves, in order to provide information on the continuously changing travel guidelines and measures and to provide travel services in safety.
Our event professionals designed and executed successful events with even more passion and commitment, showcasing our team’s potential to adapt and react quickly to any crisis.
We organized more than 80 congresses, seminars, corporate meetings etc. in a hybrid or virtual mode, with the use of sophisticated technology and by following all safety measures as applied by the state. The major meetings and events of 2021 can be found here.
We feel the need to thank our clients and partners for their support and cooperation during this challenging year. The success is the result of our mutual efforts, their continued trust has been an inspiration to us.
Apart from the successful course of our business throughout the year, we are most of all grateful for the winnings that highlighted this year and that reminded us that sometimes the greatest opportunities are created in challenging times.
- In February 2021, Sissi Lignou, Sissi Lygnou, AFEA CEO, was elected as a new member of the IAPCOCouncil (International Association of Professional Congress Organizers), during the Association’s General Assembly & IAPCO Day on February 15th 2021. - At the same function, AFEA received the IAPCO(International Association of PCOs) “Driving Excellence Hero Award” for one of our newest team members and for its contribution to Digital Marketing. https://www.afea.gr/en/news-knowledge/news/?newsid=46
- Last but not least, in November 2021, during the international exhibition IBTM, AFEA & CSR Hellas won the 2021 IAPCO Driving Excellence Collaboration Award on Sustainability Actions for their contribution to the effort to promote Sustainability principles in Meetings and Tourism and in all economic activities related to the industry. https://www.afea.gr/en/news-knowledge/news/?newsid=55
