Intercatering proudly supported the young innovators participating in the world student robotics competition “FIRST Global Challenge 2024” in Athens, by providing them with nutritious, flavorful meals. The event, which was successfully organized by AFEA CONGRESS, took place at the iconic Peace and Friendship Stadium from September 25 to 29. Our team had the pleasure and responsibility to cater for 3,500 participants from 198 countries each day.
With a strong emphasis on ensuring that every competitor was energized and well-nourished, Intercatering's team created a diverse range of meals inspired by different global cuisines. The menu was designed to meet the dietary needs of all participants, offering halal, kosher, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
Throughout the five-day event, the Intercatering team, with more than 120 professionals, worked around the clock to deliver a seamless dining experience. Each day, thousands of guests were served through an extensive buffet service that celebrated culinary diversity while maintaining the highest standards of quality and hygiene. To manage the logistics of this massive operation, the company employed 30 trucks to transport food and equipment, ensuring timely preparation and service.
Intercatering is also proud to announce its strong commitment to sustainability during the event. Thanks to precise planning and waste-reduction strategies, the entire catering operation generated less than 5% food waste, setting a high standard for sustainable large-scale events.
