15th Panhellenic Medical Obesity Congress, 13 - 15 May 2021

The Hellenic Medical Association for Obesity (HMAO), with the support of CONVIN, organized the 15th Panhellenic Medical Obesity Congress online, held on 13 - 15 May 2021. The conference, which has been an institution for the scientific and educational activity of the Association for many years, coincided with the 30-year anniversary of its foundation. Through the interesting topics of the scientific program, the excellent Greek speakers, including Professor Triantafyllos Chavakis from Germany, as well as its impeccable organization, provided all its 400 participants with a unique conference experience.

Online Seminar "When Immunology Meets Internal Pathology", May 19, 2021
CONVIN organized for the Rheumatology Clinic of the Athens Naval Hospital, an online seminar entitled "When immunology meets internal pathology". Distinguished academic doctors and researchers analyzed the COVID-19 pandemic and its effect on the treatment of autoimmune diseases. The seminar was the first of a series of courses that will cover a variety of diseases in Internal Pathology related to immune disorders.

8th Summer School of Immunology, 24 - 27 May 2021
The 8th Summer School of Immunology on the topic of "Molecular immunology of SARS-CoV2 infection: Pathophysiology, clinical and therapeutic consequences" was held online by the Department of Pathophysiology of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Institute of Autoimmune Systemic and Neurological Disorder and CONVIN. The high-level scientific program of the Organizing Committee included outstanding speakers from leading Universities and Research Institutes around the globe. As in previous years, the goal of the event was the exchange of knowledge between students, post-docs and Faculty, teaching and research lectures, short student presentations, and vibrant poster sessions. The delegates had a dynamic presence at the event, setting a new record of participation

Spring Days of Rheumatology, 28 – 30 May 2021
The Spring Days of Rheumatology were held in Ioannina, Greece from May 28 to 30 2021, with great success and active participation. This annual masterclass is a tradition in the educational activity of the Greek Rheumatology Society & Professional Association of Rheumatologists. Due to public health measures, this year the event was held in a hybrid way, with physical presence of a predetermined number of delegates at the Hotel Du Lac, as well as through online live streaming for registered delegates. Present at the opening ceremony were the Mayor of Ioannina, Moses Elisaf, who addressed a warm welcome in Ioannina to all the participants, Mrs. Stavroula Tsiara, President of the Medical Association of Ioannina, and also the leading sculptor and longtime professor at the School of Fine Arts, Theodoros Papagiannis.

According to the President of the Greek Rheumatology Society, Ms. Evangelia Kataxaki, “These Spring Days of Rheumatology have maintained their applied clinical character, by including most of the fields of Rheumatology, by offering modern and scientifically proven knowledge, and giving opportunities to young and specialized Rheumatologists to actively participate in the scientific program, next to older and most renowned colleagues”.
